PRACTICAL GUIDE

Where should I stay for Ryogoku Kokugikan?

Choose a base for both the sumo day and the rest of your trip.

Ryogoku for the easiest tournament day. Kinshicho for a wider practical base. Asakusa if sumo is part of a Tokyo trip.

Ryogoku

Best when the tournament is the priority.
Check the exact walk to the arena, luggage-storage arrangements and the route back after the final bouts.

Kinshicho

More hotel, food and transport options while staying close.
Compare the hotel-to-station walk and the number of transfers with the places you plan to visit the following day.

Asakusa

A useful option when sumo is part of a wider sightseeing trip.
Check the actual station and route: an Asakusa address alone does not tell you how many changes your journey to Ryogoku needs.

Before choosing a hotel

Compare properties for the same dates and number of guests: the route back after sumo, the next morning’s journey, check-in and luggage arrangements, cancellation and change terms, and the total including taxes and fees. An area name alone does not confirm these details.

Read the route-first hotel guide before booking. The linked guide includes a clearly labelled advertisement.
