Kazuma | A 202 kg wrestler, and the movement beyond the number

September 2026 profile · Information checked on 11 September 2026. Rankings, measurements and six-tournament figures below are from that pre-tournament snapshot.

A fictional miniature inspired by Kazuma, in a navy mawashi and a stance carrying his large body forward.

His name is written 一意 and read Kazuma. His official measurements were 185 cm and 202 kg. His July makuuchi debut ended 5–10 at west maegashira 15; his September rank was west juryo 2. Once the large numbers have caught my eye, I want to watch how he moves that weight forward.

Push-outs 36%, force-outs 31%

In the Association’s six-tournament display, yorikiri followed oshidashi closely at those percentages, with tsukiotoshi, a thrust-down, at 12%. His listed strengths include both pushing and thrusting, and left-hand-inside force-out sumo. Can he stop the opponent’s feet before taking the belt? When the other wrestler retreats, can Kazuma follow with his whole body? I don’t want to treat body weight and the ability to keep moving forward as the same thing.

The name and the saying he chose

He uses his given name, Kazuma, as his ring name. His favourite saying is ichii senshin, wholehearted concentration; its first two characters are the same 一意 used in his name. His official questionnaire also lists hotpot, chicken and Korean dramas. He entered professional sumo in July 2024 and reached juryo in January 2026. Tamawashi was his scheduled September opening-day opponent: two wrestlers who favour pushing, with very different lengths of experience on the dohyo.
