Ryuden’s preferred techniques are morozashi and forward pressure. Morozashi means getting both arms inside the opponent’s arms. Once one is in, when does the other follow? Knowing the name of the completed grip makes me want to go back and watch the contest between the arms that came before it.

Yorikiri 45%, uwatenage 10%

Oshidashi also accounts for 10% in the Association’s six-tournament figures. He does not win only from morozashi: some bouts end with an outside belt grip. If the opponent prevents one arm from getting in, what does he take with the other? I want to follow the fight for the belt, including the moments when he cannot establish his preferred position.

Nearly twelve years from his debut to makuuchi

He debuted in March 2006, reached juryo in November 2012 and made his makuuchi debut in January 2018. His highest rank is komusubi. He finished July 4–11 at east juryo 3 and was east juryo 8 for September. In the official questionnaire, he names Uru among his favourite music and Hajime no Ippo among his favourite works. His answers about favourite words and what makes him number one both return to not breaking and not giving up.
