The opening-day juryo pairings for Kyushu were announced on November 6. Wakatakakage, returning after missing two entire tournaments, meets Ryuden on November 8. Wakanosho, who missed the September tournament, faces Enho.
The two new juryo wrestlers also have their first opponents as sekitori: Isegahama stable’s Asahifuji meets Tamashoho, while Otowayama stable’s Ryuho faces Hatsuyama.
At the November 6 scheduling meeting, no wrestler in juryo or makuuchi was listed as absent from opening day. Juryo takes place before makuuchi, so viewers following these returns and debuts will want to tune in earlier.
Shiori’s note: A return to the ring and a first step at a new rank—juryo’s opening day has plenty to watch.
