Sumo returns to Nagahama after 27 years: same-day tickets from 8:30 a.m.

The sumo tour returns to Nagahama tomorrow, October 15, for the first tour stop in the city in 27 years. Doors at Kenmin Kyosai Dome Nagahama, also known as Shiga Prefectural Nagahama Dome, are scheduled to open at 9:00 a.m., with the programme expected to finish around 2:30 p.m.

An October 1 notice from the organiser says same-day tickets will be sold for selected seating categories. Sales begin at 8:30 a.m. at the ticket counter near the venue entrance, with cash and credit cards accepted. The available categories must be checked at the counter on the day. This article cannot confirm remaining stock or guarantee admission.

The city's announcement also lists shokkiri demonstrations, sumo jinku singing and taiko drumming alongside the bouts. It could be a chance to listen as well as watch, although the programme may change.

Keep the two morning times separate: ticket sales at 8:30, doors at 9:00. Parking is limited, and the organiser encourages shared rides or public transport. Check the official event page before finalising your trip.
