SUMO NEWS | 14 OCTOBER 2026
Today's official birthday list includes wrestlers Fujiso and Suigafuji, and juryo referee Kimura Hideaki.
October 14 brings three birthdays on the Japan Sumo Association's official list: Fujiso Yudai, Suigafuji Takashi and juryo referee Kimura Hideaki. Happy birthday to all three.
Fujiso belongs to Nishonoseki stable and comes from Muroto in Kochi Prefecture. Suigafuji belongs to Isegahama stable and is from Koga in Ibaraki Prefecture. Both were born on October 14, 2004, and turn 22 today. They share a birthday but followed different timelines into professional sumo: Fujiso made his debut in March 2023, while Suigafuji debuted in March 2020.
Kimura Hideaki, a referee affiliated with Tamanoi stable, comes from Taka in Hyogo Prefecture. Born on October 14, 1985, he turns 41 today. Sumo's personal milestones belong to referees as well as wrestlers.
If one of these names is new to you, their official profile is a useful place to start. One date note: the birthday list displays ranks from the September 2026 tournament, not the November rankings.
