September 2026 profile · Information checked on 11 September 2026. Rankings, measurements and six-tournament figures below are from that pre-tournament snapshot.

Arashifuji’s juryo debut in July ended 11–4 at east juryo 13. That brought a substantial rise to west juryo 5 for September. His official measurements were 172 cm and 123 kg. Asked what he does best, his answer was staying low.
After getting in low, can he keep the push going?
The Association’s six-tournament display showed oshidashi, a push-out, at 69%; katasukashi, an under-shoulder swing-down, at 6%; and okuridashi, a rear push-out, at 3%. Once he enters low and the opponent’s upper body rises, can he keep his feet moving? If the other wrestler tries to trap his arm, is there still a path forward? If I imagine only evasive techniques from a smaller wrestler, that share of push-outs surprises me. The figures include tournaments from his time in makushita.
From Matsui to Arashifuji
He began professional sumo in March 2024 under the ring name Matsui and reached juryo in July 2026. The official questionnaire lists training as a hobby and honest training as his favourite saying. Other preferences include beef tongue, back number and horror works. For a start, I want to remember the 11 wins on his juryo debut together with the low position he named himself.
