Onosato’s Yokozuna promotion page records only thirteen professional tournaments. Of those, nine had been in the top division—and he had already won four championships.

The small number beside the big achievement

The JSA’s commemorative page preserves the position after May 2025: a May 2023 debut, January 2024 top-division debut and promotion announced on 28 May 2025. He became the 75th Yokozuna. His current profile lists five championships; the four belong to that earlier snapshot.

Two different pushes

Recent winning finishes are force-outs, 33%, push-outs, 16%, and frontal push-downs, 14%, in a display listing 43 wins including one default. A push-out sends the opponent outside; a push-down brings them down. Those two pushing finishes total 30%, close to the force-out share.

That gives us something more precise than “he is big”: does the bout end with separation and pushing, or with close contact and forward force?

The story after promotion

He missed all of May 2026 and returned for 9–6 in July, closing with wins over Takerufuji, Kotozakura and Kotoshoho. Fast promotion does not make every later tournament easy. Outside the ring, the Nishonoseki wrestler from Tsubata, Ishikawa, enjoys finding sweets and supports the Hanshin Tigers and Kashima Antlers.
