September 26, 2026 / September tournament, Day 14 — historical results and background. Records on this page are after Day 14, not final tournament records.

Use this guide to choose what to read about Day 14. For an overview of all 33 bouts, open the results index with its Japanese result sheets. To look up a wrestler or record in English, use the Makuuchi or Juryo text table. To understand a technique, choose one of the six notes below. The final section preserves the September 27 timetable and explains the closing ceremonies.

In Makuuchi, Onosato and Aonishiki went into the final day at 11–3. Kotozakura won the closing bout against Onosato by tsukiotoshi and is 9–5. In Juryo, Kagayaki lost to Tamawashi and is 11–3; Tamawashi, Kitanowaka and Kayo are all 10–4.

Six bouts, with a closer look at the techniques

For a pushing force-out versus a close-contact force-out, compare Asakoryu’s oshidashi note with Wakamotoharu’s yorikiri note. For an arm throw without a belt grip, start with Kitanowaka’s kotenage note. For a close-contact finish that topples the opponent, choose Dewanoryu’s yoritaoshi note. The confirmed results are separate from these general technique notes, which do not reconstruct the six bouts.
