The official venue listed for the March 2027 tournament is Edion Arena Osaka. In a route screenshot, save the railway operator, the exact station spelling, the gate and exit, plus the Japanese venue name. Several rail services use Namba or 難波, but they do not put every traveller at the same point.
A Tokyo plan centred on Ryogoku Kokugikan cannot be copied into Osaka. The tournament format travels; the building, station, entrance and facilities do not. Confirm the venue on the Japan Sumo Association’s Osaka page, then use the arena’s own access information.
Save a route, not one station word
After choosing the line from your hotel or arrival terminal, record the operator as well as “Namba.” Add the gate and exit shown by the current official route. Subway, private railway and JR arrivals occupy different positions in the wider district. A transfer app’s walking estimate is a guide, so a first visit needs extra time for the station interior and crowds.
Keep “エディオンアリーナ大阪(大阪府立体育会館)” and the address on the same screen. The Japanese wording is easier to compare with local signs or show when asking for help.
Shin-Osaka is not the arena station
Leaving the Shinkansen at Shin-Osaka is only the start of the city section. You still need to transfer and travel toward Namba. With large luggage, allow time to locate lifts or a locker before the spectator journey. The official sources reviewed here do not guarantee that the sumo venue will store your suitcase, so do not build the plan around arena storage.
If you arrive in Osaka on the ticket date, work backwards from the ring entrance you most want to see and include delay margin. For a same-evening Shinkansen, do not freeze the final-bout time or post-event walk into an unrealistically exact connection.
Make one final check outside the building
At the venue, compare the ticket date and seat with the event signage and entrance directions. A multi-use arena may contain different zones or another activity. Follow a visible sumo sign rather than assuming that every crowd is yours.
Before entering, display the station and line you will use afterwards. Namba feels different when evening lights and departing spectators fill the streets. Saving the outward route lets you remain present for the final bouts.
Detailed description of this diagram
The left card relates two document tokens to a venue-identity box; these are not station positions. The middle card breaks the line between two unknown tokens with a stop block because the chosen railway operator, station and exit cannot be guaranteed through to the event entrance. The right card branches from stop to confirmation or another confirmed plan. It depicts no station, exit, road, direction, distance, duration, step or facility position.

Listen for Osaka’s version of the same call
The yobidashi has not changed, but the building has. For one bout, notice whether the call seems to rise to the roof or arrive close to the seating. A honbasho carries its dohyo between cities, and the voice surrounding it changes clothes too.
Choose one action between the gate and your seat
Confirmed fact: Official guidance identifies public transport to Edion Arena Osaka; Shin-Osaka and the nearest arena station are different.
What remains unknown: Event crowds, lift waits, entry queues and a particular seat route have no universal confirmed time.
Reasoned inference: Saving line, gate and exit separately should reduce backtracking from station ambiguity. Confidence is medium; this concerns a failure cause, not promised minutes. Temporary routing overrides it.
Editorial suggestion: With ticket phone in one hand and bag in the other, agree on a stop signal with companions. This is not a station rule; it prevents the group splitting into different exits.
Fallback: Show the venue name to station staff and use another official exit or adjacent-station route.
