A fictional miniature inspired by Kazekeno, poised in an unbleached practice mawashi.

Kazekeno went 8–7 at west juryo 6 in July and appeared at east juryo 4 on the September rankings. The name 風賢央 is read Kazekeno. Nearly 6 in 10 of his recorded wins were push-outs. I want to remember that sumo along with the name.

Follow the feet receiving the push

The six-tournament display on the Association profile checked for this article showed oshidashi, a push-out, at 59%; hatakikomi, a slap-down, at 9%; and hikiotoshi, a pull-down, at 9%. When I watch only the pushing hands, I forget how many steps the opponent takes to reach the straw boundary. If the push stops, how does Kazekeno respond to the other wrestler’s advancing feet? I want to notice the point where a push-out and a win by bringing the opponent down begin to diverge.

The route from 2022

He entered professional sumo in March 2022 and reached juryo in May 2024. His official questionnaire lists watching sports, Major and Porno Graffitti. Some fields on the profile still showed July information when checked, so the September rank in this article was confirmed against the September banzuke. I want to keep the rise in rank separate from the earlier performance figures.
